Squirrels are such quirky animals, fleeting and darting and scurrying everywhere and gone in the blink of an eye. Some are really tame though, I saw a man feeding them in a park in York, August 2018, throwing seeds and nuts around there must have been a dozen or so darting about picking up the nuts and seeds.
Whitby Abbey is such an intriguing place. It is the inspiration for the original Bram Stoker’s Dracula Castle and the Church Yard near the Abbey is featured in the novel itself. Only the shell of the abbey remains, mostly ruins now but in past times it played a very important part of daily life. Owned by the National Trust there is a charge to enter the ruins and grounds. Partly turned into a museum that features artifacts found during excavations of the Abbey grounds.

The autistic brain very rarely rests, lost in my own world imagination, the lights catch my eye and I stop and position myself until the lights all line up in an ordered way, even better when it’s complemented by the road markings disappearing into the distance following the same path as the light trail. I’m just lucky enough to be able to see and capture its beauty. The most beautiful thing in this image is the flood of the lighting disappearing into the night as it heads towards the ground.
