In the viewbug contest Inspiring Portraits my photo ranked 1,555 and was placed ahead of 27,986 submissions. That’s in the top 10% most voted.
I think this image really suits colour and gives it more mood and depth. I usually edit for mono with my street photography work.
Whitby Abbey is such an intriguing place. It is the inspiration for the original Bram Stoker’s Dracula Castle and the Church Yard near the Abbey is featured in the novel itself. Only the shell of the abbey remains, mostly ruins now but in past times it played a very important part of daily life. Owned by the National Trust there is a charge to enter the ruins and grounds. Partly turned into a museum that features artifacts found during excavations of the Abbey grounds.
